FAST Skill#
Interpersonal EffectivenessWeek 5A way to maintain self-respect & hold boundaries.
Be Fair#
- Validate both parties
- Communicate your own feelings
- Show an understanding for theirs
No Apologies#
- Be assertive
- Don’t apologise if no mistakes were made
- Don’t apologise for saying “no”
Remember: Apologies can be seen to others as a sign of weakness or guilt, even if that guilt is unwarranted. Learning to apologise less can make proper apologies feel more meaningful, and may help to boost your self esteem too!
Stick to your values#
- Hold down your own values
- Stand up for what you believe is right, even if the other person disagrees
Be Truthful#
- Stay honest
- Speak clearly & without ambiguity
- Hold integrity
- If lying is unavoidable, be mindful of why you are lying & acknowledge why it is needed.
